Social Enterprise World Forum Edinburgh 2018

September 23, 2018

The Social Enterprise World Forum Edinburgh 2018 was an experience that Adelaide Sheik (University of Johannesburg, Johannesburg) and Deidre van Rooyen (University of the Free State, Bloemfontein) will not forget soon. With 1400 delegates from 43 different countries participating this is understandable. Leading by example Edinburgh Scotland proved that social enterprises are the change that the world needs. Deep debate and serious challenges to eradicate the sustainable development goals through business ideals were the order of the three days. Several networks, friendships and knowledge was shared. This forum was a good example where practitioners, policy makers, civil society and academia agreed on a way to re-imagine the future together.  A few of the discussion points included young people, big business, markets, ecosystems and professional development. We will encourage everybody to attend the 11th Social Enterprise World Forum in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in October 2019 to discover the joy and colourful experience of social good in Africa.
