CGF final meetings
October 25, 2019
The last Common Good First consortium meeting and Final Dissemination Event for the project took place in Cape Town in early October at the historic Welgemeend venue, nestling beneath Table Mountain.
During the Consortium meeting, the team reviewed the output on the CGF Platform which was about to go live, assessed the project’s sustainability plans, focusing on the platform, digital labs, digital storytelling and future collaboration and prepared for the event the following day.
There was a great turn-out for the final dissemination event, with invited guests coming from all over South Africa and all walks of life, including social innovators, policy makers and senior leaders from our partner institutions.
All aspects of the project were presented and discussed, including EU/SA collaboration, our digital ambitions and the grand launch of the platform itself. One of the highlights of the day and a half event was a keynote speech from Kerryn Krige of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) who spoke about the work she doing with the South African Government (and involving a number of CGF partners) on developing the social economy in SA.
After one last group photo, the team said their goodbyes and many of them made plans for future meetings and collaborations.
Finally, and as ever, Will from Bundu Media made his last film for us about the Cape Town event. The project would like to thank him for all the amazing videos he has made for CGF over the years – and which you can see here.
