University of South East Norway (USN)
University of South East Norway (USN) is the second largest University College in Norway, with 18.000 students on 8 campuses. It is the result of a merger between three regional university colleges, and offers 88 bachelor programs, 44 master studies and 8 Ph.D programs. The department of Health, Social and Welfare studies is a partner in the Common Good First project. It is situated in the town of Porsgrunn, some 150 kms south of the capital Oslo. The department teaches Bachelor programs for Child Welfare Officers and Social Educators, as well a Master course on preventative work with children and youth. For several years, we have used digital storytelling as an integrated part of our teaching. These experiences, together with an active development and research activity on social innovation and social entrepreneurship, are major parts of our contribution to this project.
